| South Pass in Wyoming; sketched by Wilkins on his 151-day journey from Missouri to California on the Overland Trail (also known as the Oregon Trail). Wilkins writes in his diary: " Came thro' the South Pass yesterday, without scarcely being sensible of any change. The road for 8 miles preceeding the summit is very good and nearly on a dead level." |
