Historical Marker
Historical marker dedicated in 1922 on the site of a trading post. It was established in 1792 by Jacques Vieau as an agent of the Northwest Fur Company. The marker reads: "1795 The First White Man's House • A Trading Post in Manitowoc Co. was Built 60 Rods South of this Marker by Jacques Vieau, Known Among the Indians as Jambo Dedicated June 25, 1922."
