![Waterwheel in Fairwater Waterwheel for generating electric power, with men sitting on the log support. It may be the largest in the nation. The waterwheel was built in 1924 by a company in Hanover, Pa., for J.W. Laper of Fair Water, Wisconsin, who then owned the tri-city electical system. The waterwheel was dismantled in the 1940s. The structure surrounding the wheel, though dilapidated, still stands as of this date per an email from Joe Walker [9-7-2006]. Per an email from the property owner, Jerry Sanders, the wheel still stands strong as of 11/30/2011. |
