John Philbick Webster House
John Philbrick Webster House. Built in 1836, the building served as the federal land grant office and courthouse. The composer Joseph Philbrick Webster used it as his home from 1857 until his death in 1875. Most of his over 1,000 songs were written there. Caption reads: "Home of J. P. Webster Author of 'Sweet Bye and Bye' Elkhorn Wis". |
