Cushing Memorial Monument
The Cushing Memorial State Park was established in 1915 by the State and the Waukesha County Historical Society. Its grounds, formerly the Cushing family homestead, were planted with hundreds of trees to commemorate Wisconsin Civil War soldiers. Three of the Cushing brothers -- William, Alonzo, and Howard -- were Union officers who distinguished themselves for bravery during the Civil War. |
