In 1838, Ole and his brother, Ansten Natesta, were the first Norwegian immigrants to come to Wisconsin. While Ole Natesta built the log cabin, his brother returned to Norway and convinced many others to return to Wisconsin with him. In 1840, they began arriving in great numbers to begin the first Norwegian settlements in the state. |
