There are also building identifcations for Congress Street. Highlights include: The house at the corner of Canal and Congress was built by Ira Stockwell, the first village blacksmith, in 1852. Mr. Stockwell built his shop at the rear of his dwelling, on Congress Street. The Methodist, Baptist and Congregational churches, all built in the 1860's, are visible. Wm. Garner had his home on the west corner of Congress Street near the Rock School. |
