Oakleigh Lodge in Blooming Grove

Oakleigh Lodge on the south shore of Lake Monona, one-time home of Dr. and Mrs. William Reginald Reynolds of Dublin, Ireland, who purchased the house and 60 acres of lakeside property from Dr. Joseph Hobbins in 1860. At the time of this photograph, the house was being used as a restaurant run by Mr. and Mrs. Oliver M. Davis. It was later demolished when Highway 12-18 (Broadway) was widened. |
