A View of Part of the City of Milwaukee

View from the second story of the Salesianum, the residence of Dr. Salzmann. The view includes Lake Michigan, the Milwaukee shoreline, and some of the numerous ships which came from Chicago, Racine, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, and ports on the eastern shore. In the foreground is the old mission church, a new orphanage, and the cemetery for deceased priests. Taken from Hölzlhuber's description of the scene, translated by Vera Kroner. |
