Photograph
Madison from the Roof of University Hall
Fuller made this photograph of the University District and railyards from the roof of Main Hall (now Bascom Hall), about 1860-1862. Completion of that building in 1860 afforded an elevation for unprecedented views of the city. In the foreground is South Hall and in the distance, beyond a sparsely populated neighborhood, is the railroad causeway over Brittingham Bay. |
