Wounded Civil War Soldier

Wounded Civil War Soldier | Painting | Wisconsin Historical Society
Oil on linen study of a dead or wounded Civil War soldier created as a preliminary study by one of the Milwaukee panorama painters active during the 1889s. Although unsigned the study is probably by F.W. Heine. Previously thought to have been for the Gettysburg cyclorama, the study is now thought to have been for paintings of the Atlanta or Missionary Ridge battles.
