Painting
Thirsty Union Civil War Soldiers

Oil on linen study of three Union Civil War soldiers drinking from and holding canteens. The painting is the work of one of the German panorama artists active in Milwaukee during the 1880s, probably F.W. Heine. These figures were painted as a study for The Battle of Atlanta cyclorama, and are visible in the finished work, held by the Atlanta History Center. |
