Painting
Union Civil War Soldier

Oil on linen study of a Union Civil War soldier holding a bridle that was created by one of the German panorama painters active in Milwaukee during the 1880s. Although unsigned, the study is probably by F.W. Heine. Once thought to be for a Gettysburg cyclorama, this figure is visible in The Battle of Atlanta cyclorama now held by the Atlanta History Center. |
