Great Northern Grain Elevator
The steel and reinforced concrete grain elevator built by the Great Northern Railroad at Superior about 1900. This contemporary photograph was taken to accompany the elevator's nomination to the national Historic American Engineering Record (HAER). On the left is annex 3, with annex 1 on the right, both of which were built during the 1920s. Freight cars of the Canadian National Railroad can be seen to the right near the conveyor line, as Canadian oats were the primary use of the elevator at the time this photograph was taken. |
