Madison's old Central Fire Station (1881-1904), 10 South Webster Street, with two ladder wagons pictured in front of the station. The wagon on the left is the William H. Rogers Hook & Ladder Company, as the Capitol Hook & Ladder Company was known after its incorporation into the city fire department in 1885. This building was originally the Billings Plow Works and then became the Police Garage. Later it became the Little Printing Co. after the fire department moved out. |
