Yerkes Observatory

Elevated exterior view of Yerkes Observatory. Geneva Lake is in the background, left. Roads and sidewalks cross the sweeping, well tended lawns. The design of the grounds was based loosely on a plan by the firm of landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted; the full plan was never implemented. The grounds include several trees which are the largest of their species in Wisconsin and other interesting specimens. |
