Capitol Park Fountain and Bjorgvin Singing Society

Group portrait of uniformed members of the Bjorgvin Singing Society of Chicago, most of whom were born in Bergen, Norway, taken in front the Centennial Fountain at the Executive Residence, 130 East Gilman Street. The singers had participated in a Sangerfest and memorial services for Ole Bull in the Ole Bull room in the Residence. Erected in the Capitol Park in 1878, the fountain was moved to the Governor's Mansion in 1912. |
