President Frank Presenting Scholarship
University of Wisconsin President Glenn Frank presenting $4,500 Emily Jane Culver Scholarship to Charles Pfeiffer of Racine. They are standing next to the Lincoln Monument on Bascom Hill. Charles Pfeiffer was the Wisconsin winner of the three year scholarship to the Culver Military Academy in Culver Indiana. After graduating from Culver in 1936 he graduated from the University of Chicago in 1941. He was killed in action in Germany in 1944. |

Unveiled in 1909, the Lincoln Statue was created by sculptor Adolf Weinman of Hodgenville, Kentucky, Lincoln's birthplace. Thomas Brittingham gifted this statue to the University. See Image ID: 17338 Text on negative sleeve reads: "For Capital Times." |
