Reverend Ole Amble
Waist-up portrait of Reverend Ole Amble, a Norwegian immigrant and Lutheran pastor. Amble emigrated to the United States in 1871. He was ordained a year later at the Augsburg Seminarium in Marshall. His first pastorate was in Allamakee County, Iowa; from there he was called to Montcalm County, Michigan, where he lived and worked for the rest of his career. The town of Amble, Michigan, is named for him. |
