Edward P. Allis
Vignetted engraved lithograph portrait of Edward Phelps Allis, an industrialist who formed the Edward P. Allis Company in Milwaukee, initially manufacturing milling equipment before expanding to other large-scale capital equipment. Allis became involved in the Greenback Party in the 1870s, and was their candidate for governor in 1877 and 1881. He was also a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers. |
