Lone Rock Above the Wisconsin River
Elevated view across river from the top of a cliff towards buildings along the the top of the cliffs on the opposite side. Far below a group of people are standing on the sandy shoreline. There is a bridge on the far right, and just beyond it is a building or arch decorated with the words: "Welcome D.A.R." The cliffs below the buildings have been reinforced with stone. The river bends around to the left, and a long, wooden staircase on the left leads from the buildings down to treeline at the base of the cliff. Caption reads: "Lone Rock (?), Wis. c1905-1910. View of Wisconsin River and buildings on the bluffs." |
