Slightly elevated view of the border between Hurley, WI and Ironwood, MI. Caption reads: "Looking east from Hurley side of Montreal River near Silver Street, barn at left is Kascir's barn, old steel bridge is now gone, as is the Ashland Mine seen in the distance." Inventory reads: "Looking east from the C+NW RY [Chicago and North Western Railway] track, immediately south of Silver St, the small stream is the Montreal River. The barn with one foundation post in the river is Kascir's Barn. The old steel bridge which was a little west of Capt King's home is now gone, as is the Ashland Mine which you see in the distance." |
