Oval-framed waist-up portrait of Lars K. Aaker, a Norse immigrant, farmer, Civil War veteran and Minnesota state legislator. He emigrated to the United States in 1845 and briefly lived in Dane County. During the Civil War he served in the 3rd Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment. He then served in the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1859–1860, 1862, 1867, and 1869, and then in the Minnesota Senate from 1881-1882.
DESCRIPTION
Oval-framed waist-up portrait of Lars K. Aaker, a Norse immigrant, farmer, Civil War veteran and Minnesota state legislator. He emigrated to the United States in 1845 and briefly lived in Dane County. During the Civil War he served in the 3rd Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
