Enger-Kress Pocketbook Company
The sign on the roof reads: "Enger-Kress Pocket Book Co." Originally a resort, this building was acquired by Enger-Kress Pocket Book Co. in 1902, where they manufactured handbags, wallets, coin purses and key holders. The two-story building has several towers and is surrounded by trees. In 1911 the building burned down, including all of the inventory. It was replaced by a brick building that was used until 1998. The company was dissolved in 2006. The postcard may appear to be a cyanotype, but it is printed in blue ink. |
