Entrance to Prison
Text on front reads: "Entrance to Prison, Waupun, Wis." Main entrance of the Waupun State Prison, built in 1854. Beyond the prison gates is the tower of the Gothic Revival main building. The walls are cut limestone with wrought iron gates and grills. The prison housed adult men and women until 1933, when a separate women's prison was built. |
