Text on reverse reads: "Friends Church (Church of the Old Rugged Cross), Sturgeon Bay, Wis. Hymn completed by Rev. Geo. Bennard, Dec. 29, 1912 - Jan. 12, 1913. First sung as a quartet in Friends Church parlors as a duet at the last service from penciled words and notes. Most popular and widely accepted Christian hymn." The church was built in 1885 of limestone in the Gothic Revival style. |
