Postcard
Donges Bay
Text on front reads: "John Schuchs, The only natural Pine Grove within a 100 Miles of this City. The Grandest and Finest Ravines, at Donges Bay, and Fairy Chasm." The text was cut out of printed material and pasted on a photograph to create the postcard. There is a group on the shore, three men and three women. The man in a suit on the left is identified as "Oswald Jaeger," owner of the Jaeger Bakery. Another group of five is in the water. Other people are scattered down the beach. On the right is a ship. Wooded hills surround the bay. Handwritten on reverse: "Part of this ship is now at the mouth of our stream, being used for bridge or fire wood. July 1963." |
