Grand Army of the Republic Arch
Text on front reads: "Cor. Broadway and Tower Avenue, Looking North, Superior, Wis." The Grand Army of the Republic Arch spans the corner of Broadway and Tower Avenue. Built in 1900 to honor Civil War veterans, it contained 220 light bulbs at one time and was taken down in 1921 due to age. Two sets of tracks run under the arch with streetcars in the distance. Businesses and lampposts line the streets and pedestrians are walking in the street and on the sidewalks. Two signs read: "Coal" and "Closing Out Sale." |
