Several people wearing straw boaters are holding signs and posing with a man dressed as Uncle Sam. Signs include such slogans as: "WIN with WINTER, SHINE with SCHEINFELD", "DON'T BE A CRANK - VOTE FOR FRANK", READY OR NOT - Here Comes MOTTE", and "Wait and see - its Biracree". Caption reads: "A Manpower, Inc. sales promotion meeting had all of the hoopla and most of the trappings of a political convention here Wednesday as branch managers and franchise operators from 11 midwestern states staged a red, white and blue rally at the Pfister hotel. Uncle Sam, portrayed by Ronald Franzmeier, of the temporary help and business service firm's public relations department, and Elmer W. Winter, Manpower president, led one demonstration designed to step up sales to the fever pitch of a political campaign." |
