Jury in Oil Price Conspiracy Anti-Trust Case

Group portrait of 14 men chosen for the jury in a federal petrolium industry trial. On trial were 22 oil companies, 46 individuals, and three publications for conspiring to artificially raise and fix gasoline prices throughout the Midwest, violating the Sherman Anti-Trust Act. Case led Wisconsin Legislature to adopt the Unfair Sales Act in 1939. |
