Beaded Bandolier Bag
Bandolier bag with loom-beaded panel and strap. Bag, pocket, and strap are constructed of off-white cotton layered with wool, and trimmed with dark red military braid and blue-green silk ribbon. Brown wool strip above pocket opening is undecorated. Red wool strip below pocket opening features decorative quilting and a linear, symmetrical floral design in iridescent yellow, clear, and blue beads. A loom-beaded panel is attached to the front of the pocket. Panel design consists of a large multicolored central diamond framed by red eight-pointed stars and smaller multi-colored diamonds. Small, blue triangles outline top and bottom edges. Fifteen narrow loom-beaded tabs with brown bead and red and blue yarn tassels extend from panel. Three end tabs feature yellow, green, blue, and pink multi-colored geometric designs, while center nine tabs have same dark blue and clear chevron pattern. Wide white zigzag beadwork on brown wool frames the panel. Loom-beaded strap features a column of embellished "X" shapes that alternate colors. Multi-colored diamonds separate each "X." |
