Home of the Fourierites

Text on front reads: "Home of the Fourierites, Ripon, Wis. Established May 27, 1844 by followers of Charles Fourier in Ceresco Valley, now a part of Ripon. The community numbered about 200 at its best and was known as the Wisconsin Phalanx. Its property was held in common and all shared alike. Amicably disbanded in 1850." A long, white clapboard, dormitory style building surrounded by lawns. There are trees to the left and ivy is growing on the building. |
