Watching Escaped Monkeys
Dan Watson, left, director of the Vilas Park Zoo, and fireman Don Annen attempting to capture two rhesus monkeys in the tree tops. Annen is holding a tranquilizer gun. The monkeys escaped from the zoo on August 4th, 1960, along with 36 other monkeys. Sixteen were soon caught but it wasn't until December 5th that these last two were captured. |
