Vice President Richard Nixon Makes a Campaign Stop in Madison

Then-Vice President Nixon helps lift crutch-clutching Lynn Cooperman to the speaker's platform during a campaign stop at the Madison Municipal Airport. She is a University of Wisconsin student from Chicago and she told the president that she broke her ankle while distributing Republican campaign literature in Madison. So Nixon insisted that she sit with the celebrities. |
