Handwritten text on back of AP print: "This photo by Arville Schaleben, for the Milwaukee Journal, taken from bush pilot Chet McLean's plane in June of 1935. The AP serviced it to its clients. It shows the main colony tent colony at Palmer. The railroad line runs diagonally left to right, with the colony headquarters and other administration tents and warehouse and storage in the center intersection. The Palmer R.R. station was off the picture at extreme right." |
