Train Wreck
Milwaukee Road locomotive 5508 resting on its side after a derailment. The engine struck the rail, seen in center foreground, which had been driven upright into the ground to prevent trains from running onto an uncompleted portion of track. The engineer and fireman were able to crawl from the wreckage. Several well-dressed gentlemen at right are observing the scene. |
