Gatun Locks
A view looking toward the Atlantic entrance to the Panama Canal, over the Gatun Locks during construction. The entrance lighthouse is seen in the distance. A man is standing at the edge on the left, and people standing on the lock gates in the distance are dwarfed by the massive walls of the locks. There is equipment on the floor of the locks and also atop the walls. |
