George Frederick Brumder and his wife, Thekla Wollaeger Brumder, traveled to the West Indies and the Panama Canal in March 1913, before the official opening of the canal in August, 1914. George F. Brumder was the son of Milwaukee publisher George Brumder and succeeded his father as president of the publishing company.
