ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
McCauslin Brook was the site of one of the Holt Lumber Camps. Logs were put in the stream at McCauslin Brook and floated down the Oconto River to the Holt sawmill in Oconto. A small piece of paper has been torn off the left side of this photograph. According to Shan Holt, great granddaughter of Lucy Holt, the group may be preparing to float these paper lanterns in McCauslin Brook as part of some kind of ceremony. Lucy Rumsey Holt may have received the paper lanterns as a gift from one of the Christian missionaries in China she supported.
