| "Almost 4000 high school musicians came to Madison for the state solo - ensemble festival, and 20 of them went home with scholarships for the 1958 Summer Music Clinic at the University of Wisconsin." The image shows Fred Stohl, center, preparing his instrument, with help from his brother, Steve, left, and his father, A.A. Stohl. Fred won a first-division rating on marimba for the fifth straight year. |
