Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity Purchases Sherman Tank
Debbie Duncan, University of Wisconsin student from Batavia, IL, christens "Rosebud I", a used 33-ton Sherman tank, with a bottle of beer at Ed's Service Station, 1443 University Avenue, where it was on temporary display until Armed Forces Day, May 17th. The tank was purchased by Delta Sigma Pi fraternity for $600 from the U.S. Army at Fort McCoy for a springtime "Tank Party" at the fraternity. The tank was later donated to a veterans' group for use as a war memorial. |
