The contest started in 1927 to honor the memory of the Oshkosh-born sculptor to encourage artistic talent and to recognized achievement of student artists. The event is sponsored by the General Federation of Women's Club-Wisconsin. The winners are: (left to right, front row) Karen Keene, Sharon Smith, Lin Bowman and Mary Lucas; and (left to right, back row) Phil Shallat, Jim Maraniss and Pete Moling.
DESCRIPTION
8th-Grade winners of the 1958 Helen Farnsworth Mears art contest.
