Demonstrators at a PUSH (People United to Serve Humanity) March walking around the White House to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther King Jr. The march also supported the proposed Humphrey-Hawkins Full Employment Bill. An estimated 2000 people participated, carrying signs. One man has a sign that reads: "Silver Rights Now, Jobs for All, Support Hawkins-Humphrey Bill." |

Rabbi Rachel Cowan, a civil rights activist and freelance photographer in the 1960s & 1970s, helped found the Jewish healing movement and later ran the Institute for Jewish Spirituality for many years. She was ordained in New York in 1989. |
