![Jo Ann Ulvestad Returns Home After Three-Month Polio Treatment The Orris Ulvestad family members, 4309 Drexel Avenue, welcome home Jo Ann after she spent three months in a respiratory center at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was stricken with polio two years ago [1955] and spent months in an iron lung at the University of Wisconsin hospital before she went home in a chest respirator in a rocking bed. The respirator was discarded and she now spends several hours a day in a specially designed wheelchair.
