Cathedral Woods, now known as Cathedral Pines and part of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, is open to the public as a Wisconsin State Natural Area. Lucy Holt is responsible for the conservation of this stand of old growth pine-hemlock forest. Source: Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources website.

Three of the people in the photograph may be Marjorie Best, Ethel Smith and Phil Smith. This is known because their names are recorded under a similar picture on the same page in the photograph album.
