Wedding Celebration
Well-dressed men, women and children are sitting at long tables, and more people are standing in the background for a group portrait at a wedding reception. They are under a large tent with a temporary wooden floor. Paper lanterns are strung overhead. A boy wearing a sailor outfit is standing on the left holding an open box of cigars. He is next to a young man and woman whose chairs are pulled back from the table; the woman is wearing a veil and is most likely the bride. A caption written on the reverse identifies the married couple as Lorle Meinecke and [Dr.] Onno Boekhoff of Milwaukee. A short notice in an 1898 medical journal states that the wedding took place in Wauwatosa. |
