CORE Members Singing in Assembly Chambers
Twenty-seven members of the Congress on Racial Equality (CORE) are linking arms and singing "We Shall Overcome" in the balcony of the Wisconsin Assembly Chambers. The protest was an effort to encourage Wisconsin lawmakers to pass civil rights legislation against housing discrimination and for fair employment. |
