"Creature Abstract" Sculpture
Shaded sculpture, identified as "Creature Abstract," in Sid Boyum's backyard. Painted entirely white, the sculpture uses bold negative spaces with curvilinear shapes to define an abstract human figure: a small head with ocular and a nasal or mouth cutout is sitting on an upper torso, defined by shoulders and open arm or breast. The body stands on a two-tiered base, and in its entirety measures 47" x 31" x 20." In the background are the Toonerville Trolley car, the "Feminine Torso" sculpture and a high-kicking sculptural leg behind a shrub which is near the white hand pump and a push mower. |
