Handwritten caption in German is illegible. Ali Fuat Bey was a senior commander leading troops on the unsuccessful attack on the Suez Canal in 1915. He later commanded troops in the Gallipoli campaign and throughout the war. The Hodscha was a mullah serving with the Turkish Army.
