Wienermobile Airbrush Rendering

Wienermobile Airbrush Rendering | Painting | Wisconsin Historical Society
Airbrush rendering of Brooks Stevens' vision for a redesign of the Oscar Mayer promotional wiener vehicle. The view is of the left side, and the sign on the side reads: "All Meat Wieners, Oscar Mayer." The Oscar Mayer Company of Madison, Wisconsin created the Wiener Wagon in 1936 to promote their "Yellow Band German Wiener." In 1956, Brooks Stevens Associates, a Milwaukee based industrial design firm, proposed this redesign of the vehicle that Stevens himself claims to have named the "Wienermoble." This design featured molded fiberglass construction and placed the wiener shape onto a bun shaped base. The fiberglass body was to be mounted on a Willys Jeep chassis and drivetrain. Oscar Mayer awarded the project to Stevens in 1958 and a fleet of 6 vehicles were constructed.
